Go Johnny Go!

SmugMug Daily Link

Johnny (#12) had his second Little League Baseball Game Friday night.  He had two good hits, advanced some runners, and made a really nice play at 3rd base for an out.  We were very proud of him.  Donnie is enjoying being in the score box during the games, and I am enjoying being in the dugout.

Madi is playing softball this season, and she had her game right after Johnny's, so we were able to stay and watch her play.  Her dad, Danny, is helping to coach, and her mom, Teen, is helping out in the dugout.  It's fun when these sports are a family activity.  Madi had several hits and played 3rd most of the night. We were real proud of how she played too!

On the Field

SmugMug Daily Link

Joey 's Little League Baseball Team the Bats had their first game Wednesday night. Joey is #11 this season. I had a yucky seat behind the fence and out of the dugout.  I didn't take too many pics as a consequence.  I kindof liked this view showing the boys gathering before the game.  The kids take turn reading something similar to the Pledge of Allegiance but baseball themed.

I trust in God
I love my country
And will respect its laws
I will play fair
And strive to win
But win or lose
I will always do my best

I made the best lunch for me and Donnie.  I taught myself how to debone, but not deskin, some chicken thights.  I salted and peppered them and let them sit.  After a while, I browned them in bacon grease.  When they were done, I put a tablespoon or so of homemade BBQ sauce (made another day), on each thigh, topped with some bacon pieces, and topped with cheddar cheese.  OMG they were good!  Served with sauteed onions and asparagus in butter sauce.

Harvest Time

SmugMug Daily Link

Cooler temps are here, and so is fall harvest.  Sweet potatoes are being harvested in the local fields this week. Notice that this is a Porter Farms field.

As the file name would indicate, I pp'ed this image.  I just had to add a bit of blue to the sky.  Adding details also allowed you to see the truck driver better.  A Lomo filter upped the intensity of color too.

Not sure if I said, but the boys are playing baseball again this fall. Here's a picture at the end of Johnny's game last night. Johnny is in green and #12. His team, the Lugnuts, lost but the kids had a fun time playing anyway. I was in the dugout hearding the cats, um, I mean kids. Donnie is in the yellow shirt top of the picture helping run the scoreboard. (Didn't mean to chop off his head...)

Standing Proud

SmugMug Daily Link

One of the morning glory shots I took yesterday.  I smoothed the stem as it approached the edges, I added a texture with color removed as an overlay layer in PSE7, I cropped to 8X10, and I chose not to do a vignette although I tried black, white, and several shades of green.

I spent quite a good bit of time yesterday loading up all the Christmas cards I've made and posted as daily photos over the last 3 years onto Zazzle as greeting cards.  Here is my Zazzle store.  I plan to keep loading...Halloween, Valentine's Day, etc. Maybe if I'm lucky a few will sell and make the time spent uploading worthwhile. Regardless, I enjoy seeing them all collected together in one place.

Yellow and Light

SmugMug Daily Link

Some days it is all about the light.  Taken this morning on my way home from dropping the kids off at school.  I'm not real happy about the stem shooting out of the top of the screen, but I liked the petal details and colors.  Saving a morning glory shot from this morning's photo shoot for tomorrow.  Working on a project on Zazzle that I posted as a separate blog entry today and which I will talk more about tomorrow. The hours in the day are too short and the ways to spend them too long. Oh, and I get to be on duty for my job this week. I try not to wish my weeks away, time being in such short supply, but this one is an exception.

First Greeting Card on Zazzle

I am starting to load some pictures and create some cards in a Zazzle store.

This is my first card.  I'll be adding others this week.

For now, I chose to leave the inside pages of each card blank.  I may revisit that later.

Looks like they are having an early bird sale on greeting cards for the holidays through this coming Sunday 9/16.  Maybe I should print some for myself!

Whimsical Cherubs

SmugMug Daily Link

A statue I see each week.  Finally had enough light to take a decent picture.  This statue is near the one I posted back in July.  I think there is one more there I'd like to capture some other day.

I did a god bit pf pp over the original using Color Efex Pro. I used the detail enhancing filter, lightened the center, and adjusted the color curve.

I posted a horse picture late yesterday if you have time.  I actually like that image more than this one and wish I swapped my postings.
