A shot from earlier this month when Donnie and I were out for a drive. The rust tones really appealed to me.

Spent the day shopping at the local thrift store and putting up the Christmas inflatables. Where did the time go?!?

Donnie offered to drop me off at this nowhere to park location on the way in from dropping the boys off at school on Wednesday.  I took some shots, and then he circled back to get me.  I've exaggerated the detail some since the sun washed out the scene a bit.  I love this spot and enjoy how it changes through the seasons and times of day.

Been cooking, eating, shopping, and eating some more.  Orange is going down and red is going up.  Loving that extra week this year.  Hope you all are having a great holiday too.

Donnie braved Kohl's with me today.  What a guy!

Hope you and yours are having as good a Thanksgiving as we are.  We finished eating about an hour ago, and I'm going through my pics while my tummy settles.

On the menu were:
Green Bean Casserole from Pioneer Woman
Cauliflower Mash
Cranberry and Apple Jelly also from Pioneer Woman
Gravy
17lb. Turkey
Carrots and Celery
Sausage Stuffing
Cheesecake with Blueberry Sauce (Graham cracker and pecan crust)
Pumpkin Pie (Libby's recipe but fresh pumpkin puree)

We are all stuffed!  A big thanks to Rainbow Meadow Farms for the awesome turkey that we got from the Farmer's Market.

Don't tell the boys that gravy that they loved had the giblets in it;-)

More Fall Color

Bradford pair tree in my front yard this time.  I liked the golden tone and bokeh.

This cardinal is at my feeder every day.  I didn't want to post yet another shot of him at my same feeder that I've shown so many times before.  But it is a relatively sharp image of him.  Hard to compose when he's so wide across the frame.

These hooded mergansers were in a local pond on the way to/from school this morning.  They flew when I got closer.  This shot is very cropped.

Fields of Cotton

On the way to get the boys from school yesterday, the sky to the east got incredibly blue while at my location is was quite sunny.  The contrast on the fall colors and cotton in the field were amazing.  I quick turned around and took some pics.  The boys let me know I was just a couple minutes let to get them.  Oops.  Won't be the first or last time I stop to take a pic on the way:-)

Another shot taken at Yates Mill this past weekend.  The bokeh and red caught my eye.

Gearing up at my house for a yummy  homemade Thanksgiving dinner.  We picked up our free range turkey yesterday.  I'll be making organic sausage stuffing, homemade cranberry jelly, cauliflower mash, a TBD green veggie, and cheesecake with pecan graham cracker crust.  We're excited!

Leaf Macro

I added a smidge of detail to this leaf macro and thought it was pretty cool.  The sun went in on us at Yates Mill yesterday, so I improvised.

I carried a small tripod with us since the kids weren't there to take turns taking pics.  I am so glad I did.  These pictures arm my heart...
