Bearded Iris

I bought a 3 gallon pot filled with this variety of bearded iris a couple of day ago when I was over at Lake Wheeler.  There's a small gas station near there, and the lady that runs it often has plants that she's potted from her yard out front for sale.  I just couldn't resist.  I'll be planting the iris rhizomes after they are done blooming.  For now, I sure don't want to disturb those pretty flowers!

I stopped at The Garden Hut yesterday to take pics of the beautiful iris growing out front.  I took pics of the yellow and white ones last year too.  What a beautiful sight and photo op!

Spring at Lake Wheeler

Sights seen at Lake Wheeler Park.  I walked the trail aroud Simpkins Pond.  I was delighted that the rain held off and that I was able to find and take picures of so many interesting things.  Left to right cell 9 shows a dogwood blossom on the ground.  The dogwoods are all but done now.  Cell 16 is of a wild iris.  These were so pretty!
