Artistic Helleborus

Took a few shots of the helleborus that are blooming in my yard.  First signs of spring definitely starting to appear.  I've posted regular shots of helleborus before,, so I used Nix Color Efex Pro to alter this one into an artistic version.

Have a cold and not feeling well.  Donnie is taking good care of me.  Hoping to get my spunk back tomkorrow.

English Daisies

Taken yesterday at Home Depot.  Johnny and I stopped in after school to look at raised garden beds, and these pretty English Daisies were in pots out front.  I'm starting to plan a garden area for this spring, and I think we're going to give raised beds  try.  Instead of configuring two 4'X4' squares, we're probably going to do something closer to 3'x12' with no back side since our garden area is on an incline.

Wind Chime Abstract

Boy did we have some rain and thunder fly through here early this morning (4:30am - 7am).  It was loud and disturbed our sleep pretty bad.  I definitely feel a nap coming on today!

This is a merge of two shots I took at The Garden Hut yesterday.  It is two sections of the same wind chime.  I liked the abstract look of both shots but liked them even better together.  I used Picasa to merge the pictures (under the collage option).  I also used Nix Color Efex Pro Modern filter to boost the colors after the merge was created.

Roses and Poem

This rose shot was taken at Wal-Mart on Sunday with my iPhone while I waited to check out.  I added the Vignette using Nix Color Efex Pro and then added another layer with the poem.  I fussed with the wording, font, spacing, etc. for quite some time.  I almost went with an OnOne PhotoFrame text layer but really wanted to use my own.  I found most of the poem here and added a few lines myself.  Also, it is repeated in the layer.

This is one of the first alphabet letters that I spotted, and I didn't come across an E that I liked better.

I've processed it with a dark background and with a light background plus color.  I am giving some thought each week to whether or not my weekly letter will work well to make words with my other weekly letters.

This is the one alternate E that I had.  Rotated, I do see that this could also be a W or a M.
