Lipstick Elf on the Shelf

Fellow Daily Photo Community member Ed Murray has been posting some great Elf on the Shelf shots this week.  Check them out here.  I love the Elf on the Shelf.  As you know, we have quite a few elves visiting our home too.  I wanted to try to take some more shots of our elves with a real story behind them instead of just a portrait.  this is my attempt for yesterday.  The kids came in from school, and Joey was giving Madi a tour of the house when all of a sudden I heard them SCREAMING about an elf and lipstick and Mom and MeMe come see quick.

Donnie's new running shirt came.  40lbs. lighter now, he's looking great!  Handsome!

Donnie is our pack leader going out for his run each night and keeping me and the kids moving on the Wii or other activity while he's gone.  We have Fitbit One devices now, and we compete against each other and with other friends too.  It's really keeping us moving!

An ornament I got for Johnny's green tree.  He LOVES robots.  I almost posted the B&W version.  I just love color so much.  What do you think?

Another farm just down the road from where the calf shot from yesterday was taken.  What a beautiful scene.  I just love taking drives in the country.  Donnie is always happy to pull over for me to get a shot.

It's late day and I'm looking west.  The light was not optimal.  I'd love to be here around 7AM some day taking a picture as the sun rising in the east lights up the barns.

Calf on the Farm

This young calf was just hanging out at the farm Donnie and I visited on Monday.  Isn't she adorable?  Yes, I got to pet her head...couldn't resist.  She wasn't sure what to make of me but snuggled up to the young man that takes care of her like he was her best friend.

I am really trying to  make the color schemes on these daily elf shots very unique.  This sweet little musical girl spoke to me last night.  This is Johnny's extra special Star Blanket that came with his Star Teddy from his Aunt Teen years and years ago.  He sleeps with them every night.

In the continuing series of the elves at our house...  This Annalee elf is busy making toys in time for Christmas but was kind enough to take a few minutes to pose for me:-)

Donnie and I had a busy but easy day yesterday going to the thrift store, running into Wal-Mart, and going to Joey's basketball practice.  I made a garlic shrimp and broccoli dish for dinner in cream sauce.  Yum!
