Silver Spotted Skippers

I was back in my neighbor's yard today, and I caught these two silver spotted skippers frolicking about on the lantana.  I was hoping to get a few hummer shots, but the sunlight wasn't in the right position on the feeder and red flowers.

Cloudless Sulfur Butterfly

A few days ago, I posted a shot of an orange sulfur.  Today I had the chance to take pics of  cloudless sulfur. The cloudless sulfur is  much brighter yellow, and it's also nearly double in size.

Looking at photos on my new Samsung ATIV 8 screen is like looking at every photo in HD or even HDR. My old monitor wasn't bad, but the new one is sweet!  The resolution is 1920 X 1080 (full HD).

Another shot taken at Durant Nature Park.

I was heads down all day getting my new computer, a Samsung ATIV 8, going.   Donnie got it for me today at Best Buy.  My old machine, a Lenovo T60 XP box, was barely usable anymore.  I couldn't run Chrome and PSE at the same time.  It was forever hanging.  It lasted me nearly 5 years and Donnie had replaced the fan it for me once to keep it going.  I was due.  I am so very thankful to Donnie for upgrading me!  :-)

Taken during the yard sale on Saturday.  This lantana bush is at the mailbox at the old house.  I was thrilled to get a shot showing the underside of the butterfly.  Similar to the shot that's most popular on my site.  In this case, it's shiny asphalt behind the butterfly instead of red tinted dirt.

Dragonfly on Milkweed

One of the pictures taken at Durant Nature Park. The dragonfly did a great job of posing on the milkweed for me.

My Green-Eyed Guy

I was thinking G is for Guy and Green all week and Donnie fits both!  Always thinking of my guy.

We had to run an errand today that put us in the vicinity of Durant Nature Park.  After doing what we needed to do, we stopped at the park for a picnic lunch. It was our first time at this park, and I was pretty pleased with the photo ops which included passion flower, tons of dragonflies, button bush, swallowtails, and of course Donnie.

I processed this shot using two actions from Rita's TheCoffeShopBlog.  The actions were Eye Bright and Perfect Portrait 3.  Both are easy to use.  I turned off the Smoothing effect on PP3.

I'll share another picture from the park for tomorrow's daily.
