Are they eagles' nests?


I snapped this photo on NC 751 today. I think these might be eagles' nests. No eagles in the picture, though.

They're either eagles' nests or some other large bird, like a hawk. In Florida, in areas that were deforested to make way for residental or commercial development, they would erect these high sticks with platforms on top, expressly for the bald eagles to build new nests.
